V70 G/box: 2WD: - V70 T5 gearbox worries

Hi I have a V70 with 110k. The gearbox seems to struggle to change down from 3rd to 2nd especially when towing. The car judders when accelerating. also hunts by @250 rpm in 6th without changing down. Recent service showed black and smelly Gbox oil which was replaced. Any sugestions or recomendations for garage in northwest.

As you mention 6th gear I think you will have a tf-80sc gearbox, most post here are about the 5 speed box AW55.

A search for 'tf-80sc' on here and google may help, here is an example:
