Rearview mirror replacement - uem question
Hi all,
New here and apologies in advance if I have missed a post that contains the answer to my query! Our XC90 2014 rearview mirror snapped off, the bolt just clean snapped in two. Decided to replace the mirror with one off eBay without doing too much research and now have no central locking.... Surprise surprise! Have learnt from this forum that it's programmed to the keys but my question is, is there any way of fixing this? Can I take the old mirror apart and use the circuit boards? If so, has anyone successfully done this / any tips? If not, is there any other way to regain central locking?! Help, I'm desperate 🥺 Thanks! 👍 |

Yes, a number of people have disassembled the rear view mirror (UEM)
The UEM is the upper electronic module and is programmed to the vehicle. It contains the remote central locking receiver, programmed to your keys It also contains the tyre pressure monitoring system (TMPS) receiver, but that auto-detects the wheel transmitters. At any rate, the cheapest option is to take the inner electronics out of yours and fit into the replacement mirror. Google and YouTube are your friends.
