Don't they come on when the rear screen heater is activated?

If it's the latest shaped V70 and the option of Heated Washer Nozzles was an add extra that had to be selected when it was first ordered / bought:-
http://esd.volvocars.com/site/owners..._tp9686web.pdf (Page 80) Heated washer nozzles* The washer nozzles are heated automatically in cold weather to prevent the washer fluid freezing solid. I don't recall it being an option on the older shaped V70 (in the UK).

and I can confirm that as Clan say's. they are a total waste of time if the fluid is already frozen in the pipes leading to the jets due to low concentration or no additive!

Thanks for the replies. Muchly appreciated. I use a 80/20 mix this time of year just to make sure it remains fluid. It's just an enquiry really. I have all the wiring to the nozzles and the fuse is fitted but just don't know why they don't work. The heated rear screen comes on automatically this time of year and the screen heats as does the wing-mirrors. The nozzles remain cold. I do recall last year they did work I'm sure. It's very vague in the manual as to how they operate. It's weird how all the components are there and the don't work. Puzzling. Cheers.
