Default Pads for 850R 320mm Discs

I was wondering are most of you using genuine Volvo pads on the front or yellow stuff brake pads or something else?
Will need to replace the drop links so might as well do pads while I got wheels off.
Any suggestions please?

Unless your going to be tacking your car on track, buy genuine Volvo discs and Police spec pads from FRF Swansea..

It will be going to Castle Combe when it's properly finished as not far from me,and it's going to do a road trip down to "The Ring",been before but not in the 850.
So here's a question then, the majority will be fast road use but occasional track days,is it overkill to have better stopping power even if you aren't using them to their full potential on the road or is it a good thing to have big stoppers anyway?

If you think about it, for road-use, one brand of pad over another, there can only be a gnat's c*ck in it. That's if you can keep your drving licence long enough to find that difference. The bigger improvement you've already got. Once you figured in the multitude of variables from even basic school-boy physics you're left wasting your time. The tyres, road conditions and driver delusions of talent will make the far greater difference, and even with all those things equal, provided you put on half-reasonable pads of any desscription, how could any differnece be measured anyway? And how would you know if it did? And if it did, you're asking us? Thus you're reliant on us to be talented enough to know and... to have relaibly measured it. That's gotta' be highly unlikely.

As for the race-track, the issue is much the same, if you ARE as quick as you hope, stop now... it must have occurred to you that you're in completely the wrong car. You'll be mullered regardless. Which you gotta admit brings us in full circle.

Of course if Schumacher et al, comes for advice most Tuesdays, I should shut-up. Somebody is seriosly underpaid and won't be on here much longer.

Else, to spend anymore would be a bit tragic. the ones you want are £8.90 on ebay.

Yeah, if you like. It'll not make any odds, 'cos...

1) If you can't drive, your going to be thrashed.
2) If you can drive, you're going to be thrashed.

So really it'll not matter which pads are fitted. Excuse my 'gallow's humour' but it's question of how much money soemone is willing to spend to look tragic.

Because they'll make a similar differnece, put on some of those blue silicon water hoses to complete the effect. That'll scare 'em

You've already got them?

Say you have.

Say you have.

You have haven't you?

I haven't bought anything yet, other than the car.
The general opinion seems to be that Volvo pads are good enough so I will get them.
All the hoses are black and not a dump valve in sight.I'd rather have a quick car that looks standard than a slow car that looks quick.
