volvo xc90 engine system service required

my volvo was away having a small cosmetic upgrade to the bumper after a few scuffs. whilst away it would not start so was taken to dealer. The returned to accident repair where it had no power and couldnt be loaded on lorry to deliver back to me. was taken to volvo dealer again and ???repaired. Had it back one day and now system service message appearing. Had full service only 8 weeks ago and has done less than 20K miles. ANy ideas what has been going on and how can it have been to 2 volvo garages and still be displaying a fault??
