Tyre upgrade
This car I have recently acquired is a 1996 V70 and at some point it has been fitted with 16" Perfo alloy wheels with 205/50/R16 rubber. My question is, I would like to upgrade the tyres to a profile of 55 on either a 205 or 195. Just wondering of any member has done this on a 70 series or will I run into trouble on full lock with fouling the bodywork. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi,
I ran 205/55R16 on both my V70s, 97AWD+98. They were actually OEM fit on the AWD. Both ran without any issues at all. It gave a wider choice of tyres on more modern rubber as well. Personal choice aside, my only recommendation would be to avoid XL tyres. Best regards, Rich. |
