Default Top engine mount change

I've a petrol 2001 2.4 V70.
There's no bush in the top engine mount just a bare hole in the alloy. I've been on YouTube to see how to replace the bush but they all show replacing the alloy holder too.
Does anybody know the rubber bush part number or give me a link to purchase the bush
and any tips on installation other than what's already on YouTube.

well VIDA only lists the part number for a complete replacement with bracket but people do make aftermarket ones to fit

one example assuming you have the round hole (earlier type)

presumably you would just press it in, or use g clamps and some washing up liquid, etc

to be honest it's probably less of a faff to just replace the whole thing which is what most people do, upgrade to the newer squarer type which is a straight swap and apparently is better at damping like this

personally I wouldnt bother with a genuine volvo part for this item because a) it's so cheap and easy to change later if required and b) I've fitted that cheap one and it's totally fine

whatever you do, don't put a polybush one in, it will shake the living cra.p out of your car at idle

volvo upgraded to the square cross type because the round ones were prone to failure

The cylindrical in bushing in my '99 went bad. A replacement from Volvo was only $16. THe old one slid out and the new one slid in.

Here the mounting arm went directly to the firewall and the poly transmitted tremendous vibration.

My '02 (square style) gave up the ghost and replacing it with a poly came with only a touch of vibration and a better driving feel. I used the 'yellow' bushing. FYI: SOme of those poly products are colour coded for stiffness.

this is part of the reason I upgraded to the square one

the square polybush option has gaps in it (or at least the powerflex ones do) which obviously means they allow a little more dampening before transferring the vibration into the car

my thinking was, at least this way if the new one does die I can try that out

the circular poly is the one I tried first, and it is totally pointless unless you're track racing and don't care at all about comfort
