Default HU 850 radio, no backlight

Hi all. I have a 2006 Volvo V70 D5, 185hp, 127k miles, manual gears. Just recently the backlighting to the radio has stopped working. All the bulbs all stopped working all at the same time, not just an odd individual bulb failing. The display showing the radio station works ok. The radio and CD player work ok. With the dark evenings, finding the correct radio buttons is a hit and miss affair!
Are there any fuses I should look for?
I don't fancy dismantling the unit to attempt any repairs.
Many thanks.

It’s a very very common issue with no known fix unfortunately.
Think you were lucky that the backlights actually worked previously!

Good morning,

The same happened to mine about 3 years ago.

I had a dolby pro logic fizz through all the speakers and the button lights went out.
The display is still illuminated, just the button lights dead.

Left it as it was as I tend to use the steering wheel controls for station changes.

Everything else works perfectly so I live with it.

Best Regards
