Been done to death I know
But for days now I've been trying to find a suitable ATF fluid, basically information overload for a simple southern Nancy boy like me.
I have the AW50-42 LE 4-speed. Opie oils recommended this https://www.millersoils-shop.co.uk/m...-atf-sp-iii-ws But I've seen https://www.roughtrax4x4.com/5-litre...SAEEgKULPD_BwE Can anyone give me a definitive answer or some advice. My brain hurts Regards |

Hi, my V70 TDI has the same box. The handbook original spec for auto fluid was Dexron III so anything that meets that standard should be fine. You may be getting a little confused because since Dexron III was introduced it has been upgraded several times and some manufacturers no longer produce the 'base' fluid.
Just to add to your confusion last time I changed the fluid on my gearbox I used Dexron VI which is fully backward compatible with Dexron III ( and so far the gearbox seems happy despite its 267K miles) Hope this helps John |

Cheers John
Well at the moment I have decided to go with Miller's atf, that seems to cover every atf type known to man, spoke to their technical dept and they put my mind at rest. When I spoke to the dealers all the information they had on their computers regarding atf for my car was obsolete and discontinued, one even said just put red stuff in it. Regards |

Well i have used Caffyns volvo myself via ebay for ATF Fluid, Haldex fluid and a wealth of other parts such as filters, engine oils, discs, pads, hand brake shoes.
You could do it in sub 5 minutes and get the answer. |
