Default Retro fitting cameras

Missing not having sensors on the front of my R Design, and am thinking about the options. Had a word at my supplying garage (an Indy with great Volvo terms) today and they suggested the front camera is retrofit able, they're going to get me a quote to do it. Can anyone help me confirm that adding just the front camera instead of sensors will help when getting in and out of tight parking spots, or even has anyone done this already?

Is it just the front camera or the ones under the wingmirrors too? Have you got the rear camera? Rear is excellent and comes on when you select reverse. I dont tend to use front camera as much as it is a bit of a pain to activate. You are welcome to see mine in action if that helps your thought process?

It's just the front camera they are quoting for, I have the rear camera which I spec'd, wish I'd done to surround cameras now but at the time you have to draw a line or you'd have everything and would have cost a small fortune! They have done it to a XC60 before. Might take you up on the offer thanks Philip before I commit. Just haven't a clue where the front nearside is and don't want to scratch it!

Right so it turns out the Volvo Front camera and Parking sensors are not retro-fitable, so now going to get some aftermarket ones fitted instead, can anyone with front sensors show me the locations of them please, just so I have an idea of where they are. Thanks

The front camera won't help with parking if it's like the one on my XC60. The front sensors will though. I think there is a video of the view from the front camera on the Volvo accessories web site. It points at not enough of an angle to see to the side of the car. Looks more too the road.

If you want me to pop by and you can measure/photo where the sensors are on my car then just drop me a PM.

Thanks Philip, I guess your at work this morning and having them fitted this afternoon, I think the outer ones holes are already there it was just the central ones I was wondering about. The fitter has done some in the past in the Mrs' Kuga and looked stock so am not too worried, but just wondered as you only get one chance when you drill a bumper!!!!

I am too missing the front sensors, which to be honest I assumed at this price they must be standard. I have the rear camera which is great.
Interested to see how you get on with the retro sensors, if happy may be worth me driving over to get mine done.
Found a local specialist in Stockport may see if they can do.

They look really good, and work well, the guy is mobile but am not sure on the area he covers, it was all arranged via my local garage. I can find out his number if you want me to.
Inside there is an button which you can press to activate them or deactivate them, otherwise they are automatically activated for 30 seconds when reverse is selected or on engine startup. Picture of the button below (and sensors to follow when it allows me to do it!!), I guess this can be located where you like, but I do like where it is as its in your eyeline to check they're on.
