Volvo V70 d5 Starts Itself
Hi Guys, new to this forum and have a major problem with my 2005 v70 d5. On the way to work today the dash threw up a message saying anti-skid service required. When I arrived at work I turned off the ignition and all my dash lights stayed on an the clock and message window were lit with their messages allbeit dimly. I turned the key to position 2 and the car started by itself... It is now throwing up about brake failures, passenger airbag servicing and in addition the drivers door controls for front windows and electric mirror adjustment no longer work... What is goin on!?! It's like it's got a ghost. Any ideas what it may be?
Thankyou. |

Outnumbered... I owe you a pint!! Fixed the problem, for anyone else reading this thread, under the wiper panel is some trunking where the cables sit. None of the cable in this were taped up meaning water was running down them and down the loom into the top of the smaller terminal block on top of the ecm. I have taped this up and used ct1 on all the sealing areas and silicone grease all over the multiplugs. Hopefully this will prevent reoccurrence. Just gotta get the airbag light checked out now as this is stil lit but no other faults. Assume this will need a computer to get it turned off?

I would strongly advise you do this or sooner or later you will need a £600 CEM . Also Ask your dealer if you car is covered under any volvo action .

Hi! Thanks for the reply on my problem. How much will it cost to reset the airbag fault? Also, I have the usual alarm system problem with the siren which I am going to replace in the next week or two. Will fitting the new sign automatically extinguish the light without needing a reset or is it worth replacing this before I come to you. Thanks.
P.s- will head over to johnsons Volvo and obtain repair kit or are there better places in Birmingham area? |
