Interesting. Engine number 507 would suggest that it was a B20. Have you checked the number of the engine in it now?

Chassi number 59733 shows just how many they made. Mine was delivered in April 1967. Chassi number 19 thousand and something (don´t have the figures to hand just now). 40 thousand in just short of 18 months...

More progress this morning, front end panels off and footwell air ducting removed. Nice that there were no more really nasty surprises, bonnet hinge areas were nastier than i first though, but the footwells/inner wings seem ok, and other than around the grommet in the floor the floorpan is pretty good. The front end under the battery tray is poor, but doesn't seem to have eaten too far back along the box section. The front panel is borderline savable, depends if a good replacement becomes available.

selection of panels ordered from Brookhouse Volvo, the main areas of rot should all be catered for. Top result.

After 12 months of sourcing parts & spending time doing other projects, work has finally recommenced on the 142S. It was taken today to have all of the welding done by a friend of mine, hopefully giving me some space to start renovating some of the mechanical components. just seeing the project moving again has really motivated me!
