Default Re-map

Does anyone do re-maps other than the polestar ones ? My wife has a 205 bhp 2010 xc70 and although brisk it would be better with a few more horses and torques.........really don't fancy the polestar prices though.
Had lots of maps for other cars we owned In the past at considerably lower prices. A generic map costs time to hook up and a division of the time the mapper put into making it and the number of sales they make of it. For the polestar map price it's possible to get a live re-map on a rolling road at a tuners.

Yes FWIR they do cover the later P3 Volvos but you have to go there. I asked about an "on line" re-map several months ago but they said, at the time, they could only do it on site at their workshops - too far for me to travel to get it done and to repair it if it developed a fault.

In my experience you should consider Polestar, you can negotiate the price, and many insurance companies don't load an excess onto the premium because its Volvo approved and fitted by the manufacturer. Although strangely, Volvo Insurance, backed by RSA do add 10%, go figure.

Be carefull when you consider p*

There is an owner here on one of the other forums currently with a virtually brand new V60 p* with a very serious problem who has been told by his dealer there is nothing wrong, all the other cars display the same symptoms....

Now, Volvo have aspirations to be in the premium league and to grow this nascent p* brand.

Their weakness is a large number of dealers worldwide who have not got a clue and care less.

Volvo actually have set up a system where they can deal with such difficulties from the centre and will fly out specialists from Gothenburg in such circumstances. Their dealers either know nothing of this or are just plain not interested

It stinks.

And what really has me pretty irritated presently is that through some personal contacts a p* man in Gothenburg has asked if I will hand over my contact details of this poor man so that they can make contact. This the very same company that is trying to keep this market, in particular software upgrades, isolated from competitors like myself with their illegal PINCODE BANDITRY.

Myself and my respected competitors such as Shark never treat our valued customers in the way that Volvo dealers do..........

Think very carefully before buying ANY performance parts from a dealer, some of them really are ****e.

Don.

Don
seems like the dealer in question doesn't know... that's poor,
As I understand it its just a software upgrade and can be reversed to reset the vehicle to its original state, is that correct? If so the answer to the V60 prob is to reverse the process, get your fee back and go to a more in tune dealer. In cases like this I think dealers should be named.

I have a 2010 xc70 d5 205, after a month of ownership, I went to Shark for a remap. Was worth it, mpg went from 29-31 for the same daily drive, the pull is so much better and suits the geartronic box better,

I can recommend shark, as this is the third car I had done, a 1.9tdi skoda fabia vrs now on 102,000 and 48,000 miles since remap, and 2.0tdi vw Passat since been replaced by the Volvo.
