Default White smoke coming from dip stick

Hi there.

Volvo s80 D2 2012 Automatic.

There's White smoke coming from dip stick, it's also sometimes popping out the dip stick and must be spraying a bit of oil as there oil on the underside of the bonnet and around the dip stick.

Not seen any oil leaks or smoke coming form the exhaust.

Otherwise car is running fine apart from a chugging when pulling off on a steep hill.

Recently had the a split intercooler replaced and wondering if that may have been made worse by excess pressure in the engine.

I've read it could be worn piston rings or a blockage somewhere

Was wondering if this it's worth getting it looked at the garage or if this is a sign that the engine is basically knackered?

Thanks for any advice.

You need professional help from a garage that knows these cars.

Hallmark Volvo in Stockport or Trevor Burgess in Hyde - Both independent Volvo Specialists. Google the names for the contact info.

Get an opinion off them. They know these cars inside out and have the equipment to work on them. Both garages are usually busy though, so expect a 7-10 day wait.
