annoying engine rattle
I have recently bought an N reg 460 SI 1.8 with 64K on the clock. so far everything seems fine on it except one thing;
Between about 1900-2200 RPM a rattling sound comes from the engine, i can only describe it as sounding like an empty baked bean can with a nut inside it sitting on top of the engine. i have not been able to determine exactly where it is coming from, only that it is on the left hand side of the engine (same side as the belt). Has anybody encountered this before? I'm getting worried in case it'll be expensive or fatal! I dont want to spend a massive amount on repairs as the car only cost £500! Also are there any common things that i should check that might go wrong around this milage? i want to try and keep it soldiering on for another 60K |
