C30 T5 pre map exhaust help
Hey All,
So I was super set on getting a Ferrita cat back exhaust from Don but after his last email 2 weeks ago, he seems to have disappeared and hasn't responded to any further emails. I done some research and liked the sound of the Jetex, so after ringing around 10 places who say they stock these, including Jetex UK, I find there's a 6-8 week wait as Jetex have a back log. I looked into the BSR and found a few on ebay but 2010 onwards (I believe the tail pipes are longer than I need/ mines an 08). Cutting a longer story short, the cars booked in for a remap in 2 weeks and I am need of an exhaust system.. asap.. Any recommendations would help! Thanks in advance all Nimi Last edited by Nimboss; Feb 17th, 2020 at 14:12. |

Although ive found this, but I have a high flow down pipe and no cat... this doesn't have a resonator so again worries about it being way too loud: https://en.bsr.se/product/ferrita-sp...0-t5-2007-2013

tbh I would probably stay clear of the Jetex / powerflow system. I had one on my S40 T5 and it sounded better than the oem exhaust which wasnt difficult but thats where the positives stopped really.
The design caused a more restrictive flow on my car and after 2 years, the system had deteriorated badly. really awful corrosion everywhere. With the map being put on the car, are you having it custom mapped? or is it just a standard stage1. If its not a custom map then there really isnt anything to worry about as it will be a mild tune up of software regardless of components (Pretty much an off the shelf map unless you went with a RICA map) so your exhaust can be bolted on after. If its a custom map, it would be good to get your exhaust on before, but again it wont matter too much if you are just getting a catback system. Its the sports cats / or decats which will really improve the flow. With exhaust maybe you could hunt around for a reputable custom exhaust fabricator close to where the car is being mapped for a catback system? If not and you want an off the self system then I think people lean towards ferrita or powerflow (which isnt much help) as they are the only real off the shelf systems for the car. You will find that with these cars, the majority will go for a custom exhaust system. If it helps, I know a lot of volvo owners use Tony Banks to custom fabricate their system. They might be able to whip up an post a system for you, seeing as they have build a few for volvo. www.tonybanks.co.uk

Your best bet as you have a decat is to go custom really, as it might be quite loud. I have a 3" downpipe decat and its quite loud, I got the guy who was building my exhaust to make it as quiet as he can to meet track day noise limits. He popped on 2 small rear mufflers, pics in below link: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...271945&page=36
