Default Fuel filter replacement

I have just replaced my fuel filter and whilst putting it back together, I noticed a directional arrow on the white plastic part, shown in the picture.
Can anyone clarify if I have this pointing in the right direction?

It comfortably sits both ways and I failed to notice the arrow until I was reassembling.

I’m guessing that it is a one way non return valve or something.

Many thanks.

From what I remember it returns the excess fuel from the pump back to the tank but also mixes warm fuel with the incoming cold fuel which makes for better combustion and service life of the pump. I think you have it the right way round...arrow towards the return line.

GSF have it listed on their website as a fuel filter bleed valve

Diesel pre heating valve on Skandix https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...ating/1015148/

The bleed screw is the 10mm hex at the rear.

And, just to add, this nylon part is prone to fracture with years of heating and cooling cycles so if you experience difficult starting (long cranking) look here first for air being drawn in.
