Default You learn something new everyday.

Did a maps update for the first time on my MY18 XC60; thankfully all went as it should do with no hiccups. I knew I would lose the maps facility whilst the USB stick was updating the car, and with it, therefore, the prevailing speed limit for whatever road I was on, but I didn't expect the front camera sign reading facility to be inoperative as well. All returned to normal once the update was completed and I'd switched off the engine and restarted it. Bit of a stupid oversight as this is a safety aid but as I say there's always something new to learn everyday and this is volvo's contribution to my day!
Just hope the dedicated Towbar software download and install is as trouble free when I take it in next week.

This behaviour has been improved over the years with new models. Sensus map update in 2021 model, does not turn off maps or any other functionality while it's updating. Update is done and it then says that new map will be operational after restart. Same on USB update, as well as over the air via SIM card.
