RE: C70 Door Speakers
Hi Pizzaman,
not to sure on the C70, but alot of the more modern cars have the grill PRESSED into the door trim, so they can't actually be removed from the door trim. As i say that is how alot of them are doing it now, just not sure on your model? |

RE: C70 Door Speakers
Hi.
On the C70 all the grills are part of the door panel. Do not try to remove them. you need to get the whole door card off to get to the speakers. Later, Dan. |

Cheers.
Not good news. How easy is the door card to remove?. (Must say though, the covers do feel as though they push on from the front but won`t try it). Thanks for the help. |

Hi Stu,
for some reason it's used quite often now, SAAB. Volkwagen & Vauxhall do it that way? |

I guess it might be the same 'moron' from Dynaudio who stipulated a minimum requirement for lack of colouration of the sound from the panels and grills. Apparently Dynaudio have minimum requirements for the mounting of their drivers before they will allow them to be fitted. In the C70, the grills are integral with the door cards so they do not buzz. Also the speakers are attached directly to the metal structure of the door and not in pods or suchlike. That is why you can have rib cracking bass and excellent accoustics, without it sounding like a bucket of bolts. I am still in awe of the quality of the 'standard fit stereo'. :) The door cards are apparently held on by one or two screws and a lot of panel clips, however, I have tried to get mine off out of curiosity, but then decided to leave it as I didn't want to break anything and cause rattles. ;-) Later, Dan. |

RE: C70 Door Speakers
Hi Dan
You're dead right about the quality of the sound, its bang on. I have lost sound from the centre pro-logic speaker and the top passenger door speaker. The bottom door speaker has got a bit of a buzz with it, so it looks like I'll have to bite the bullitt and try to remove the door card when I manage to locate some replacement speakers. Thanks for the info. Cheers Gary.:( |
