T5 Front Bumper

Hi All..

Just a general front bumper enquiry-i have a `94 440, and the front bumper has a good 10" ground clearence, even after a 40mm drop. As it seem`s to be increasingly difficult to get hold of an original Volvo 440 front spoiler to deepen the front end, manufactured way back in `89, i was considering a bumper donor from something like an 850. I realise the size is different, but i have a few friends in the modifying industry who i feel would be able to help fit it.

Is the T5 bumper the one with the spoiler at the bottom, which kind of looks like a splitter? Or is that the "R" model bumper/spoiler? And is this splitter looking object a spoiler which attaches to the original bumper, or is it whole different bumper altogether?

Any help appreciated.

P.s.-Unless anybody knows of a 440 front spoiler sitting in a scrapyard or knows someone who would be wiling to part with one!

Hi Dan,

the R front bumper is a complete new item (not bolted on the bottom).

have you looked into the splitter off a 480 turbo, they have a little splitter underneath (which is seperate)as the 480 & 440 are on the same chassis it should be about the same width.

Ps i like the stereo install
