Default 2000 V70 Rear Door Speaker Resonates With Speech Radio

Hi

The n/s/r speaker of my V70 resonates like mad with bass frequencies when tuned to any speech radio e.g. Radio 5 or Radio 4.

Anybody ever had that problem and know how to fix it?

Thanks

Hi,

It sounds like its possibly blown to me?, have you been playing your music loud before hand. You could try the connections on the back, make sure they are good (but i think its blown my self)

Without a Haynes manual to show how to remove the trim and the speaker I'm running blind here, but if the kit isn't blown, try:
1) putting your finger at strategic places on the door to see what's buzzing - if it's the speaker cone itself, then it is blown and needs replacing, but not if it's the chassis.
2) Tightening any fastenings slightly - don't overtighten.
3) If 2) doesn't work, take the door apart as much as you can and put blu-tack in any areas of trim-metal contact and in the screw holes.
I'd also put a thin bead of blu-tack behind the speaker chassis before you bolt it back down.
