Voltage from reverse light switch to lamp
Hi,
I'm trying to fix the reverse light on my Volvo 740 SE 1990 (manual). I'm 99% sure the switch on the gearbox itself is working. I think I have a wiring problem. The cable to the switch has around 1.5V. That should be 12V, right? I have tried shorting the connector on the cable to the switch, but the lights didn't turn on. Has anyone else had this problem? The reverse lights have not been functioning since I got the car. The previous owner has told me that the lights were working fine until the replaced the whole transmission, but the connecter didn't fit the switch so he never connected it. Thanks /KasperFromDK |

I found a fix
I found the problem. Right where the wire comes out the wire isolation was cut open and the copper had verdigris. I have replaced the wire and it's working now.
