My radio is saying OFF.
The book says leave the radio on for 2 hours and it will reset. I did this while I was polishing it (actually 2 1/2 hours) and nothing happened. Any other way to make the radio ready for the code again?

If your going to keep the car for a while I would upgrade the head unit.
For under £70 you can get a face off one which would sound much better, and no need to wait 2 hours. If on the other hand you are happy with your hu605 then someone with a bit more knowledge of the standard head units might advise what to do. |

Did you enter the wrong code 3 times? Normally leaving it on for 2 hours, should allow it to reset and accept the 4 digit code. If nothing happens in the next hour or so, try disconnecting the stereo for a few hours and see if anything happens.
If all else fails, I have 2 spare HU605 stereos so you can have one for £20 posted.

My brother had the car while doing some work on it. I can only presume he entered the code wrong as I had the book with the code in.
We left it on for nearly 3 hours and nothing happened. I will try disconnecting the battery when I get a spare few hours.

If it is of any comfort I am having the same problem. The car was used by someone who then had to disconnect the battery. Not knowing the code they then entered a random code three times (not the brighest thing to do) which was obviously the incorrect code. The radio is now displaying the word off . I will go through the processes outlined and see if it works and post the result...What makes people think they can pluck four random numbers out of the air that would be the corrcet numbers to make up the code? Unusual how the mind works...

Further to the above. I left the radio turned on for just over 2 hours and it reset itself asking for the code. Correct code put in and the radio now works...
