Default Where is that fuel filter

Now this is embarassing for me. I am my own mechanic, I like servicing my car, changed all the filters, oil, fluids EXCEPT that crappy fuel filter, I can't find it !

I searched under the car, removed both rear wheels and splash guards under the rear passengers area, no fuel filter at all. I searched for it everywhere.
The usual place is above right rear wheel in most cars but no sir, not on my Volvo.

I think you already know about the cabin air filter, I have LHD and you need to sit in impossible possitions, remove the gas pedal, carpet, cap, squeeze and twist the cabin air filter, very bad place.

I think Volvo engineers were drunk when they chose the place for the fuel and cabin air filter.

Anyone changed their fuel filter on a T5 2005 ? Or any S40\V50 Gasoline.

Thank you, and sorry for my english

It should be under the car, just in front of the rear wheel on the right hand side (when sat in the drivers seat).

There is NO fuel filter on the S40/V50 petrol , it relies on the mesh filter in the fuel tank swirl pot .
Over the years the intervals have got longer and longer for changing the petrol filter , also the physical size has been getting smaller and smaller . starting out at 12000 miles for the 1800ES then 24000 for the 140 , progressing to 48000 for 700 / 900 , then 96000 for 800 , S60 etc . Now there is no replacable filter ... and there has never been any problems with fuel filters so i guess Volvo know what they are doing ..
