200 Series General Forum for the Volvo 240 and 260 cars

  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

I've just been watching 'Star Trek - The Original Series' and noticed that the switchgear used on the Enterprise was very obviously copied from the 1980 Volvo 244:



... the 240 was clearly well ahead of its time.

The same switchgear was also used in the 140 facelift Alan and time-wise, would have been around the time the series originally aired. They also copied the Motorola Star-TAC mobile phone as their "communicator" - or did Motorola copy the ST communicator when it made the Star-TAC?

Must admit, back in the mid-80s when i had my 140 facelift, i remember thinking it was like being in NASA control..............
