I have never been aware that there was a euro 4 without particle trap what would the difference be between that version and a euro 3 i wonder ?

I think I'd confirm that the price is indeed for a car without additive tank. They may have made a mistake, especially if they think the car is an E4 with tank.

Failing that, shop around. Volvo dealers do not all ask the same price for the same service.
