Hi i have just bought a v50 t5 geartronic on a o5 plate. It has only covered 4770 miles and is like brand new. Its been serviced by volvo every year so hope fully it should be trouble free. Its the 1st volvo i have had but just wondered if there is anything i should be looking out for with it not covering many miles. Thanks in advance

Congratulations on your purchase! Sounds like a rare find to get one with such a low mileage. Those of a more technical disposition will no doubt be able to fill you in on the things to look out for with a car that hasn't covered many miles in a lot of time.

All I will say is that my S40 T5 has been pretty solid and a very reliable performer. I hope you get as many joyous and trouble free miles as I have had with mine. Welcome to the community ;-)

Hi!

You have the same 05' year as me and I thought my mileage was low when I bought it in January with 24,000 miles in fact I hate doing too many miles in it for fear of spoiling the thing

The only thing I could recommend is changing the gearbox oil and the coolant as in this thread......http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=72747

Also check if it's had spark plugs, they're supposed to be changed at 3 years/36K but mine missed out for some reason so I had them changed at the 4 year service just recently (£380.00 at the dealer, ouch).

I'd also change the Air Filter and Pollen Filter for peace of mind.

Hope to here more from you (there isn't many T5'ers here).

Most bizarre. I too had a Clio before the T5 although mine was a 1.6 16v. I've never been so glad to see that back of a car as that one but maybe it was just the one I had. I'm sure you'll never look back with your T5.
