Default 1.6D s40 turbo whining + blue smoke

Hello,
a few days ago I went to drive the car and as I was pulling out of my house I heard a loud whining sound which progressed in volume as the revs increased which I assume is the turbo. I looked inside the bonnet, took off the engine cover and saw that one of the intake manifold pipes were cracked so I ordered a new one and fitted it. I started the car and it sounded like it was hesitating to start but i thought it could be because the car sat for a week. I went around the back of the car and saw blue smoke coming out of the exhaust which leads me to believe the turbo seals are shot. I checked the turbo for play and it seems to be okay. I also found some oil sitting around the injectors which looks like it could be coming from the intake manifold and not the injectors themselves but I believe this should have no correlation? Im thinking of fitting a used turbo and changing the turbo oil feed pipes to see if the issue is solved. Do you guys have any advice and am I right in saying that the turbo needs to be changed?
