Hello.

Can any one give me any info on how to get my T5's acceleration up to cruising speed as quick as possible, it is an automatic. Also the traction control doesn't seem to do much as the wheels spin if you accelerate out of a corner a bit keen.....
any help would be great.
Greg

firstly welcome to the t5 club!!!

start by making sure the car is serviced properly, then the next step is to remap the car as this will cure the problems your having.

i drive and auto, and with the std software the can be a bit laggy and there is a flat spot around 40-50 where it wont kick down and has trouble building boost. with a remap\chip you will be able to build boost from the throttle and it doesnt matter what gear you are in. the greater boost also gives quicker changes.

the above is the best bang for buck mod.

Hi,

the Volvo Traction control IMO isn't worth the dash space allocated to the switch. It cuts out at 25mph. The T5 will light up the front tyres especially on bends and pulling out of junctions if you aren't careful with the throttle

On the auto if you don't care about fuel consumption and tyre wear, drive agressively in sport mode for max performance. I'm yet to be convinced about the life expectancy of the early auto boxes once chipped so haven't gone that route yet, but there's plenty of advice on the performance forum.
