V40 Pedestrian Airbag
Has anyone experienced the pedestrian airbag going off? I have, because a dog ran out in front of me. The airbag was deployed with a very loud bang and the bag obscurred my vision. Upon getting out of the car, I found that the bonnet was in the locked open position, and unable to close it, but worst of all, the bonnet had buckled from the explosion! I would welcome any comments.

I'm not sure what comments you are looking for. If the airbag activated just because a dog ran across your path, it clearly shouldn't have happened. If there was contact between your car and the animal and the impact conditions recorded by the on board sensors were within the criteria for deploying the airbag, it will activate.
