Default Load levellers and rear spring options

Well, Summer is reluctantly starting and thoughts turn to long, laden, family trips in the old 265.
I have some load levellers scavenged from a long dead 245 we owned years ago.
Do the springs need changing to fit them? Thinner or thicker? I have a spare old pair with blue paint marks but these look the same dia as the originals.
Or does it make no real difference.
At the moment the rear suspension is soggy and it bottoms out the mudflaps when laden in true estate fashion. Kids/dogs/luggage, as they were designed to do.
I'm hoping the load levellers will stop this. Not planning on towing by the way.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim.

Strictly they should be used with the softer springs but I would try them with the springs you have and see how you find the ride

I had load levellers with lowering springs fitted. They were Monroe ones you used an air pump on. Worked fine.

I have the Monroe air shocks with standard GLT estate springs. The car rides level with several hundred kilos of bricks in the back, but gets quite bouncy when empty until I remember to let the pressure out.

That is a 240 estate ... a cargo bay with a car built around it.

P.S. If you can't find where that bit goes, someone has added an extraneous bit to try to confuddle you ....

With the Monroe air shocks, are they inflated using a standard tyre inflators or do you install a pump on the car?

Are they still available new?

Standard tyre pump. Either do it by foot or an electric one.

Yep. Well they were 5 years ago when I bought my car as the previous owner fitted them brand new 2 months previous.

Try Monroe direct and see if their retailers have them in stock.
