Solenoid Disconnection
Quote:
After two weeks and 300 miles of driving i reconnected the beast and within five miles from a cold start the problem re-occurs..............So I disconnected the unit, gave the accelerator a couple of dabs and the irregular running melted away. So, call me picky but I have the need to know why? And what is actually happening?? It just seems so strange that it runs better with part of the kit disconnected. Growl. ATB Pozzouk. |

You are lucky in one respect that the pulley has not jammed in advance or retard position as it is 98% the pulley fails. The other 2% is the solenoid that will malfunction. Although you don`t notice any effect to performance or mpg, you should do, but you may eventually know the difference if it fails the MOT for emissions as the engine and ECU settings was designed for this solenoid unit in mind to be functioning. |

So what puzzles me is how disconnecting the solenoid can improve the running of the vehicle?!?!? Something does not add up! Pozzouk. |
