Sounds like one or more worn alternator bearings which are cheap and replaceable but not necessarily easy depending on your experience or tool collection.

Odd for such low mileage.
Do you know where to get the rebuild kit from? I might give it a try.
I can get a hella alternator from autodoc for £190 and replace it myself. Bosch ones are around 270.

Not off hand unfortunately. The last supplier I used seems to have disappeared.
A search for UK alternator and starter motor parts suppliers or checking the Bosch automotive catalogue would be be a good starting point.

Thanks again for your help with this cheshired5. Can you just confirm that it’s the 180amp 14 v version that I need?

180 amp sounds high unless it was an emergency vehicle.
A read with Dice and Vida will confirm or get whatever information you need from the alternator itself.

I can't confirm anything remotely unfortunately.

I can now confirm that after replacing the alternator the noise has gone.
The pulley was fine, bearings were shot as the pulley had movement up/down.
Thank you cheshired5 for helping identify the issue.
