Following many discussions and comments both on and off the forum, although a 'close call' I will be recommending that next year any one who is involved with judging is ineligible to win an award in the BKV.

Having been in charge of the judging this year, and looked at many scores, I failed to find any evidence of unfair marking, however I do concede that any queries/comments in this area would be eliminated in the event of the above.

Regards

Chris

Only just discovered this thread...Although I admit I'm biased here as I've only ever entered this class - In answer to your question, a lot - probably a good 12 hours over about 3 days (plus an hour and a half on the morning itself) in my case! Also pre-MOT cars aren't necessarily "brand new" (the runner up was nearly 3 years old, mine is nearly 2 years old) - I agree entering a car only a week or 2 out the showroom is a bit unfair, though (and we have had that before).

Also, although there were only 2 cars in pre-MOT this year, we did have 6 or 7 a couple of years ago - even if it required no effort to keep them looking brand new...you've still got competition between each one!
