Long time but departing Volvo owner

Evening all.

Having been a user of these forums and a VOC member for more years than I care to mention. It is with a heavy heart the time has come for me to say goodbye to my last & most loved Volvo.
So I thought I'd post my advert here to see if it could have the opportunity of going to an equally loving home perhaps...........🤞

Just out of curiosity what other car make will you go for?

The S60 P2 has very nice ride quality. It's something I will look for in other cars, but the dashboard placement, how it's not very tall and allows me to have a clear view of the road, and how it's slightly slanted towards the driver, are features that are not common on most newer cars where the display is fully centered.

Haha, I am going back in time as I already have it, a LR Disco 01' as despite the poor rep Land Rover had in the early 00s its cheap for parts today, Td5 engine is almost as good as a D5 in terms of longevity my one has no CAT or EGR, aluminium body, with few steel panels underneath which are replaceable. A complete chassis that can be replaced when it needs it and their values are appreciating. Ok it does 27-30mpg which is a bit down on my 52mpg in the D5, but I only use it at weekends and hols now, plus it's mapped and the torque curve is amazing, smiles for miles😁😁
Have previously considered a Defender of similar vintage but the values are through the roof now, plus it's not as drivable/comfortable as the Disco.

Certainly never intending on buying anything else post 2005 and should I fall out of love with the Disco I'll get something around the 40yo mark, I'm not subscribing to a laptop on wheels that has a battery nonsense that claim to be "green" when they use almost more precious resources to build and how green is the energy produced to power it!
