My 2002 V70 manual with factory fitted LPG averages 24 mpg on mixed town and motorway driving. The car is new to me and so I cannot guage the consumption of the LPG accurately but I estimate I use 20/30% more LPG than petrol. My old petrol 850 manual averaged about 30 mpg.

Whatever the maths say I get a buzz out of filling up for less than £30

I have an lpg car also around my way you can have a 4 cylinder car converted to lpg for £800 approx
regards insurance companies if you have it done by a registered gas installer he will then put it on the uklpg register then insurance companies will insure the vehicle no problem i went through the whole register pprocedure as my insurance would not insure the vehicle unless it was on this uklpg register as far as im aware all insurance companies are doing the same .... last but not least i will convert any vehicle i buy to lpg the savings are enormous specialy since i travel abroad lpg over there is around 50 pence a litre .
