Yes you certainly could. What engine is in the 145 and in the 245?

George

I would not be so shure to swap it easyly, engine and box should always stay together (145 is straitup,240 is inclined), enginemounts and boxcarrying crossmember are different, speedocable 240 can be electronical depending on year and thus won't fit to your 145 mechanical speedo.
Rearaxle final drive differs from 145 to 240 and should be swapped a well (even saloon and estate differ)
Iff you have an underfloortank (consealed), this will not fit either because bootfloors are different even 145's differ depending on year.
So look before you leap!!

hi got the 144 now its 1971 my 81 240 is very diffrent.but they go about as well, only power steering and breaks that could be improved dont know how my valve seats will cope with LPG but i heard they will have hardened themselves with age to some extent, only using it round aberystwyth no motorways so hope it will be ok.
fingers crossed :-)
