Default XC90 central locking issue.

Hi all, I’m looking for some help/advice and to see if anyone has had any similar problems. I installed a new stereo in my recently acquired 2008 XC90. I fitted a dab aerial and also the harness to allow steering controls to be retained. All works great. However, I now can’t lock the car with the fob button and the passenger door won’t lock/unlock with the others when I use the key, not will the window go down with either passenger or drivers button. May just be coincidence, but I’m ask wondering if I could have disturbed something. It was working before and during the installation. I have noticed the passenger door seemed to lock and unlock when opened sometimes before it stopped working.

Cheers

Ant

The easiest way is to connect VIDA and read the status of all doors and boot lid and bonnet (if alarm is fitted), and also actuate each doors lock individually. you very quickly see what works and what doesn't.

The harder way is to use a multimeter and check each lock's signal wire to the CEM. A lock more mucking about with wiring diagrams and hard-to-access CEM wire connectors.

The hardest way is to replace parts at random, which is like buying a lotto ticket. You might win....
