Default VOSA next Step

Well done 4Wheeldriver and Beeman

I spoke to "Which Magazine" Legal Advice who stated Volvo would hide behind the sale of goods laws. i.e. you can only take the selling agent to court OR the finance company under UK legislation. BUT they did suggest VOSA might well be interested. I will be contacting VOSA next week.
I'm taking the family to Yorkshire in my Merc E320 for the weekend. I don't want to put more strain on the drive train in the XC90 which is a shame cos' it's more practical and more comfortable.

While I'm on the Merc, it too recently had a failure of the offside suspension coil spring; luckily whilst parked on my drive.
The difference was that even though the Merc is older than the XC90 and has 20K more miles, the suspension was replaced FOC within 48 hours. They also didn't give me the bull**** about brand loyalty like Volvo did. I haven't used Merc for service for over 2 years but they'll get the next one.

I wouldn't know where to look for the Mercedes Forum; I wonder why?

Isn't it under the windscreen of your car? Or have they taken it already?

Are Volvo stupid enough to risk a re-run of the damage done to their reputation during the ETM problems? I imagine we will find out...

cheers

Hi James

Is the known problem with all three generations of AWD fitted to the XC90, or one in particular?

All the best.

Roy

Its a bit more than a problem Tem. Its had me knackered for 6 months now. 18 weeks waiting for specialist appt, 2 months for MRI scan that I had on Monday and now another month wait for the results. General concensus is when I had the accident last August The L1 disc disintegrated. Believe me I wouldnt wish this pain on me worst enemy!!!!!

This may be of help in the car.....look at the product called the bumps.....http://www.backseat.co.uk/

This guy is an engineer and he belives that the lumbar support causes problems.....http://www.naturaljointmobility.info/LBPhome.htm

I don't have any discs between my vertibrae so they sit directly on each other. Don't opt for surgery, it more often than not makes things worse, and the improvement is usually better if you don't. Can take a long time for the pain to ease off though. A good osteopath is the best bet from my experience.

All the best.

I measure it in bad months. Not getting any sleep for weeks on end is what I hate most.I've had it for 15 years though so I'm used to it. Pain killers are useless for that type of pain. Things you can try if you havn't already are ice (a packet of frozen peas or those cooler box ice packs. Ibruprofen gel applied direct to the area can make a slight improvment, just enough to get you moving anyway.

All the best.

Roy
