Default What am I doing wrong when ordering ignition leads?

So this is now the second set I have ordered, each set I've been sent the lead end for the distributor/coil is incorrect. I need both to be like the plug on the right.

I believe I ordered the correct set here for my car: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165076855...mis&media=COPY

What am I missing guys?

Bosch = nasty cheap replacements.
Bougicord OEM leads are rarely bettered.

If your originals are intact and working (similar resistance on each) then keep them. They'll probably last longer than new Bosch leads...

It's more the fact that both times from different sellers they've had the incorrect ig ends for the coil. Is there something specific I need to be looking for?

Has the coil been previously changed ?

Perhaps the connection on the coil is different from original equipment ?

As far as I know it's a standard coil bought off Classic Swede:

You are correct:~
The connection mentioned (right) should push into the coil spigot, these are standard coil fittings- normally quite tight but can be opened/closed in required.

The opposite end, not clear what you have in the photo should also be the same for the distributor cap i.e. as above (Pictured)

I have aftermarket leads on my car for quite a few years without any problems whatsoever- ebay purchase and probably Bosch as you have purchased.

Has the boot cover been pulled over the electrical contact hiding it- they can slide along the cable at times when moved etc.
Bob.

The one on the left Bob is a much shorter metal clip inside, and the boot is narrower too. I can fit the whole boot into the one on the right..

Doing some more Googling, and on the Classic Swede site the image on their lead listing shows two different ends for the coil lead, SAE and DIN. I've been sent DIN - SAE and I need DIN - DIN for the distributor. You learn a new thing every day!

Ordered a set.

Rule of thumb with leads is only ever use OEM ones, I had this many years ago with a V6 Omega and nothing other than the ones from Vauxhall ever looked man enough or built for the job and never go near any that you cut to size and screw the ends on afterwards, hth.
