A bit of information for those looking to retrofit the strut to the later XC70 and V70 models that didn’t come with the strut from the factory.

My 2014 didn’t have a strut, therefore I’m order to retrofit I bought a used floor panel (as mine needed replacing anyway) and made sure the one I bought had the small attachment knob fitted.

I then bought a used left hand side floor rail as this is where the lower attachment point is, again made sure it had the attachment knob on it.

Finally I cut the slot out of the storage tray (using pictures of used trays online) and fitted a brand new strut - which works perfectly.

All in the cost was approx £65 - £35 for the floor, £15 for the rail and £15 for the strut.
