Will I be able to use Spotify and Google maps etc in my car for free in Switzerland?

says "The markets listed offer Internet via the car's built-in modem for 4 years1 from the date of purchase of the car. Data roaming works within the EU."

Switzerland is on that list. But the list is the markets that offer internet via the car's built-in modem. That says to me that if I bought a Volvo in Switzerland I'd have the service. What it doesn't tell me conclusively is whether a car bought in the UK has data in Switzerland.

"Data roaming works within the EU." - Switzerland isn't in the EU, and I find it disconcerting that Volvo doesn't explicitly state that Switzerland is also covered.

I purchased my car in Hungary and had no problems with the internet connection in the post-Brexit UK. Switzerland is also part of the EU+EFTA+UK roaming agreement, so there should be no problem.

I spent about 24 hours driving through Switzerland last month.

My car has a Three PAYG SIM and I was able to use that whilst in the car to stream music, display weather, use the Volvo car app to locate the car etc.
My phone has an Asda Mobile SIM and it did not work in Switzerland, but did work in France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, etc. So that is definitely a EU only SIM.
My wife's O2 SIM in her phone worked everywhere, i.e. in the EU and in Switzerland.

I'd say check with whoever supplied the SIM. As mentioned above Volvo seem to indicate that Switzerland is included and it is for SIMs from Three UK and O2 UK. I think Volvo partners with Vodafone for the eSIM built-in to the car so it's likely that Vodafone will be similar to the rest of the big four and just treats mainland Europe as one area.
