Default Geartronic 'adapt to driving style' memory

Hi...

Picking up a Nov 05 2.4D S60 SE G'tronic 163 Euro IV (old D5 Engine) on Weds. Cant believe the drop in price of these.....the car I am buying with 8000 miles, nine months old, cost new with all add ons, £28k.........I am getting it for £17900 and the main dealer is giving me £1000 over the odds, after haggling, for my 04 new shape S40!!!!! I have even screwed them into fitting Volvo rear parking sensors foc....

Still, this is my question..... I understand that the Geartronic box 'learns' the driving style of the driver and changes up and down to match the style of driving, ie high rev changes for a boy racer, and low rev changes for a boring, deisel scrimping, old fart like me........

If this car has 8000 miles on it, will it have 'adopted' the style of the previous driver, and can this be 'reset' on the Geartronic memory, or is the 'driving style memory' very short term and 'resets' on each journey.... I have probably not made this particularly clear, but hopefully someone will understand what I mean.....

Cheers

Martin

Learning 'box periods are short... a few minutes. They will adapt to you having a bit of a b-road blaster, and then settling into a town or motorway crawl. You can reset it by the normal ECU reset method (ie disconnect the battery for 10 minutes).
