I have a quick questions about the right side engine mount

When looking on pictures of these, the centre bushing is pointing down...

When looking at mine on the car, this rubber is pointing up on on almost half the side. Is these mounts filled with anything that can escape or something or it might have an air leak? Obviusly my engine mount should be somewhat defective? I can try take a picture of it tomorrow

Having fitted the exact mount shown in the photo above, I can add my comments on what a difference it makes.

Fitting was a doddle. The only slightly fiddly bit was having to lever the engine forwards slightly to give room to slide the new mount into position but even that was not at all difficult.

The old mount in my car was in good condition but good grief, how pliable are they??!

The new mount transmits a tiny amount of extra sound and vibration into the cabin but it is actually a positive as you hear a bit more of that glorious 5 cylinder growl. Best of all though, the car feels tight and new again. Well worth the upgrade!

Hi all,

Sorry for the holy thread revival but there is a lot of good info in this thread which I feel is still relevant.

I have a clunk every time I change up and down a gear if the revs are not matched perfectly, I believe it's this mount that you're talking about that's causing it.

Is this mount still the correct one to order?

http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/product-N...peed_15758.jsp

Is the other mount needed as well or is that generally OK (one in below video that it bolts into which then goes to the gearbox)?

Thanks for the help!

I replaced mine recently. The other mount is okay and just hard rubber which should not be able to move anyway. The part you need is just the torque mount.

after replacing the mount it did not solve the clucking when shifting for me. I had to replace the upper mounts (passenger and driver side) too. at 140k miles.

Balls, was hoping for a reply last night but never mind

I wasn't sure if the eBay ones were cheaper knock offs after reading a few comments about them on the US forums. I think all my mounts need replacing as the engine shaking (see video in my coolant thread) is pretty bad.

Are there any after market mounts that are better than Volvo for the left/right upper mounts?
