It's a bit pricey. And it's only GPS, so if it gets parked in a covered area you might not find it. I'd be more tempted to get an Automatrics - less flashy on the app side but probably more likely to find your car again as they use RF beacons as well.

Imagine you've got three garage doors in front of you and the GPS signal shows the car's in one of those garages. It'll be much more of a faff for the police to gain entry and recover the car if there's only a 33% chance of opening the right door. Using an RF beacon though, you can easily pinpoint the exact location and guarantee a 100% chance of getting the right one.

Fortunately never had to test it but my insurers accepted the standard VOC tracking and theft reporting capability as meeting their mandatory tracker requirement (for vehicles with value / list over £70k)

Mine did not, and I had to instal a tracker. To be honest I was toying with this anyway as it is my car, not a company or leased vehicle, so wanted to secure it as much as possible. I have been surprised by the number of times the tracker does not recognise I have the tracker fob with me and I get a phone call asking if the car is secure. Shows it does work quickly though should it be stolen.
