After 5 years would you buy another Volvo
For those who have owned a Volvo for 5 years plus, would you buy another?

Yes, but I believe it will be in a very long time, and it won't be a brand new one.
When we took our XC60 in for a service a few years ago, the salesman did a quick pitch, in the end it was our car plus £22K to have a new XC60. Well the new one was no way near £22K better than our current car, so no thank you.

This is, of course, assuming you can actually buy a Volvo in future. I wouldn't be surprised if the subscription model takes over entirely in the end.

I have owned Volvos for 25 years now, and my wife has owned Volvos for more than 20 years. The only thing that will get me away from Volvo is the fact that they are going to go all electric. With my beach cottage some 750+ miles away from home, I just cannot see myself owning a BEV in my lifetime ...

I can't answer this question for another year, but for the record, I could not afford to change to another Volvo if I wanted to, even at this point in time. Certainly not a newer version of my current model.
IMO, the motor trade industry determines the value of my car and the same motor trade people determine how much a new car costs to buy, the difference between those two amounts gets bigger as each month passes. I know people will say that the customer determines the value of a car, there we have to disagree. I just hope I can continue to be able to afford to keep my car on the road until I no longer have a need to drive, irrespective of whether I would like to change the car or not. |

No.
No. 2015 V60 Polestar owned since very early 2016 with 600 miles on it. Now at 16,000 miles. Alarm siren failure; new one needed, battery failure, fair enough but why not batteries than can be changed ? Odd other electrical gremlins since new Strange battery charge issues (never fully charged) Spurious blocked camera messages Steering wheel would not unlock Spurious cross traffic alert messages A/C Humidity sensor failure; it just sits there doing nothing, must be poor quality surely ? ABS/ ESC failure; a story in itself. I bought a scanner, code indicates front RHS sensor failure indicated. I can clear the code, but the ABS/ ESC failure message reappears within about 20- 30 miles! If it is faulty surely the code should not be able to be cleared ? I'll fit the new one ordered. Seems very strange that a fault message indicating ABS/ ESC failure remains despite no real time error message from the sensor. I can detect no effect on braking or stability, I only ever had ABS engage and that was in 1990 ! We were going to buy a Volvo V40 for my wife; we bought a Mazda CX-30 SkyactiveX AWD instead. |
