19 days cycling, 61,000ft climbing (twice the height of Everest!). 1,089miles (not the shortest route, but via home, Marsden mountain rescue folk I was raising money for & Edinburgh), avg 57 miles per day, mostly B&B (plus one castle, the amazing Balsporran B&B & even a couple of cheeky nights camping just to add around 4kg extra weight ). Weather ranged from those 50mph Cornish winds & pouring rain around the 19th May to some beautiful sunshine through the Yorkshire Dales and even a mostly bright & no-midge Scotland (carried a pointless £4 head-net for that leg!). Anyway....back to life! A great decompression from the day job, & seriously, by the end, I could have just kept going...... And....SWMBO drove Stormy to Edinburgh without any issues (I got a couple of busses down!), we spent a lovely weekend in Edinburgh and Glasgow (son & daughter currently there), & now back. 6½ years on, the XC60 still feels like a lovely, comfortable motor: came back a slightly scenic route via the Borders and back over the A66....

Glad you had some sun whilst travelling thru North Yorkshire, were renown for our scenery but not for hot weather. Well done.
