Default Transfer Box Repair / Fitting in or around London?

Hi Volvo Owners Club!

My first post - hope this is in the right part of the forum.

We have a beloved 2001 V70 Cross Country with 180K miles (and many more to go!) that needs a transfer box replacement. I've found a used replacement part on eBay (ours is pretty shot) but am struggling to find anyone to fit this part as our usual mechanic is booked up for a long time.

Wondered if anyone had any recommendations for someone in or around London to take on this job? Ideally would like to have the replacement part repaired to brand new standard before fitting, i've seen a lot of companies doing this for BMW/Mini/Land Rovers but struggling to find a Volvo specialist.

Any advice really gratefully received!

Cheapest option would be to remove the prop and make it 2WD unless you really use the AWD.

I know it’s a bit out of London but there’s a company by Aylesbury called Horton Cars, they a respected Volvo specialist and they’re all knowing in the very issue you have. It’s worth contacting them and they have courtesy motors too.
