Help Me Please
Hello
The car is due to be taken to the mechanic early on Friday. That mechanic is useful, especially as my health still declines. It really would help me if I at least, please, can be told where are the connectors for the Lambda sensor? Please? I am not, really not, wanting to explore from scratch. Those days are gone for me. But if I know where, and how accessible, the connectors are. That could be a game changer for me. And if I am able to change the sensor myself I can use Bosch. (The blanking plug is still being PlusGassed daily.) Please. I want to keep this 240 in use for me, and for any future owner. Stephen .

Some News
The mechanic says by 'phone that the blanking plug is rusted in to the down pipe. I'm cogitating that until I see him and the car again.
I have a few issues re life and re the car at the moment. I'm sorry to have been sounding impatient. Stephen .

The Lambda connector is a single wire plug/socket and a conventional 2 pin volvo plug and socket on the bulkhead by the brake servo , black wires ..

Thank you Clan. Overall, he's concerned the plug might break. I'm inclined to continue the PlusGas. And if that doesn't work, think again. If the blanking plug is heated and force applied, have you known the blanking plug to break? It wouldn't cost much to just weld on a new boss for a sensor. Not a nice solution .. I'll look for those connectors thank you. I hae the car back from the mechanic. The car runs very reasonably. But as I expected the Lambda light comes on now. If it were left without a sensor, would it just run at a little less efficiency, or ??? My inner, outer and full self are aiming at fitting a sensor ... the mechanic is a very good chap in my opinion and useful for my situation and I want to respectfully keep him on side ... he's the chap doing the job ... Stephen .

If not n,othing lost , it can be cut out and a new boss welded in , they are widely available from motorsport tuning places . Yes the engine will be less efficient and may not pass the MOT on the CO test .

[QUOTE=Clan;2746162]The plug is a sturdy one its most likely to come out when red hot and cooled a bit .

I've found those connectors. In-line connectors where you said thanks. That helps me a lot. The mechanic has coiled the wires from the stolen sensor up near the connectors. Is there a best route for the wires down to a new sensor? In in case I fit a new sensor myself. So the plug is sturdy &c. Thanks. For now I will continue the PlusGas. With patient persistence PlusGas can work wonders. Stephen .
