No - no further issues!

I used a product I have lying around from when I was a kid - a model railway track cleaning product called Rail Zip. It's a contact cleaner and corrosion inhibitor, essentially. I'm sure there are other, similar, options, but this works well, and I had it lying around!

cheers

James

Thanks for the feedback foggyjames glad it fixed it.

Clan, do you know which connection is the analogue from the pedal to the CEM? You mentioned the big green connector on the CEM, any idea which terminal in there? I have tried cleaning it all up with the Volvo rust stuff you mentioned and seems okay, but want to give the specific terminal a closer look. Thanks

The signal wire is white it goes into Pin 31 of the left hand lower connector block on the CEM underside .. should be 0.5v to 4.5 v depending on the position of the pedal ...

I have had a similar issue and your posts have been a great help... many thanks. I had the generic error message on my car and took the car into a Volvo dealer last Friday to read the code. They wouldn't tell me what it was (trade secret apparently) but they did mention a faulty communication between the accelerator pedal and the CEM. I was supposed to be bringing it back in tomorrow for fault tracing that could take a few hours (and I assume considerable expense).

I found the CEM and just unplugged and replugged the connector you mentioned and now the error message has gone. Not sure if it's a permanent fix - time will tell. In the meantime I have ordered myself a DICE/VIDA unit so that in future I can be more informed about my car's inner thoughts.

Cheers!

Mine's been good too. I've now got my DICE/VIDA and have seen the codes and the cause (as suggested, it was a mismatch in voltage values). Looks like it really was as simple as a dodgy connection.

Hi guys. I've got an under performing v70 2.4d and using via the only issue i can find so far is that the throttle position ranges from 8% at idle to 67% at full throttle. I have checked the discrepancy between both signals and they are about 0.5% out so nothing drastic.
Does anyone know the operating range of the AP sensor at rest and full throttle?
Cheers
